Santa Fe Transit bus shelters will get a new look coming soon

Santa Fe Transit bus shelters will get a new look coming soon

The City of Santa Fe's Transit bus shelters will soon have a more artistic touch to them. By August 19, 2013 all are expected to be up-to-date with the new look.

Three locations in downtown Santa Fe have already received their new shelters. As Santa Fe Trails and its partners developed the new designs for the bus shelters, they were aimed to reflect local artistic traditions. The themes are local history, culture and New Mexican traditions that are punched tin work on the panels of the shelters. In addition to the new look, there are also newer practical features being added to them for the better enjoyment of users.

SFNF clears up road confusion with new map

The Santa Fe National Forest released a map letting motorists know where it is ok to drive in the park today.

The Motor Vehicle Use Map has been in the works for six year. The project began as a response a national guideline, which requires all national forests in the country to evaluate their motorized systems of roads and trails.

In a press release, spokesperson for the Santa Fe National Forest, Bruce Hill said the map is a simple way for drivers to navigate the national forest's many roadways.

“After years of extensive analysis and public involvement, the MVUM (Motor Vehicle Use Map) displays the forest’s designated network of roads and trails for public motor vehicle use, showing the public where they can legally ride,” he said.

This map is free to the public and can be used in conjunction with other maps.
